You Made Your Bed Now Lie in It!

I’m very excited to see what people come up with for storage and possible sleeping solutions for the Gladiator. Here are a couple that already have my wheels turning, possibly even about a combination of the two. 👍

If there would be enough height between the top of the storage box and the bottom of the EVO rack to put a fridge slide and a fridge, the combination might suit my needs perfectly.

I have to say that this really is a great setup and one that I would consider as well! Can't wait to get my hands on our Gladiator o_O

Funny, I was thinking the same thing. The only downside is keeping the frig in the shade. It struggles to keep cool when it’s really warm and in the sun.

Great looking trucks. I'm a little concerned how I'm going to mount the fridge. I have the ARB 50 qt and it's taller than the bed. We may be buying another fridge....

Well crap, then there is no way it will fit on the storage deck and under the EVO rack. Is the ARB 50 taller than that fancy new stainless ARB?

I would imagine it would fit on top of the storage deck. But it is taller than the bed rails.

So I just grabbed a screen shot from your video of the EVO gladiator. I don't think there would be enough room to have the EVO rack, the storage deck, and a fridge on top of the storage deck (even if you centered the fridge under the highest part of the EVO rack.)

Wow. I think you're right. Not much room. If you could mount it in the very center, you could build storage drawers around it. But it would have to be custom.

Tuffy makes custom drawer sets, but I think you would waste a ton of space.

The 50 QT is 20" tall (without slide); the new Elements fridge is 17.3" tall (without slide). The deck (using the specs for a Taco as a guide) is about 12" tall. In the screen shot from the video there is no way there is 12"+ between the top of Mel's fridge and the bottom of the EVO Rack. Bummer!!

I recall Adam posting about an ARB fridge that was a little shorter but still had some decent capacity. I should have bookmarked it. I think it was a different series but not the Elements Series.

The Gladiator bed depth is 17.5 inches from the top rail to the floor of the bed.

So you guys know, Mel is planning on making racks of different heights. One lower than what you see and one taller. Don't know if I'd want something that tall though.

That is smart. The one he is running looks to be intentionally at a height such that the RTT is not too much taller than the Gladiator roofline. If he brought the rack itself up to the roofline (or close to it), I bet you could make a fridge and the deck fit.

I presume that if Mel makes the rack a little taller the sides would be a bit more vertical so the top pieces could be universal across all heights (if that makes sense). I actually might be fine with that because I don't know that I would want/need to drive the RTT around all of the time.

I think the height of what Mel has on the OG40 is a perfect height. Any taller and it might look weird or just to tall.

I do think the 36qt arb might fit with a storage unit and that rack tho. Would be tight

Sell one of your children and put the fridge in the back seat...
